Mountain Trail RV is one of the more genuinely engineering-led names in Australian off-road caravan manufacturing. Founded as Mountain Trail Campers nearly two decades ago, the company designed and engineered parts from concept and manufactured them from raw materials — all in-house — and that uncompromising approach still defines the business today. Australian-made, designed and manufactured in Albury, NSW, the company now supports a multi-line production facility and produces over 10 different models.
The credentials are real. In 2016, the EDX V1 hard floor camper won the prestigious Camper Trailer of the Year Award — the only year the company entered the competition, before the brand transitioned into caravan manufacturing the same year with the Hybrid CXV 3.7. In 2026, Mountain Trail RV launched the PARAGON range — their next-generation luxury off-road caravans, featuring an integrated power and energy system managed through a touchscreen TVMS and a modern interior design.
What sits underneath every MTRV van is what sets them apart. Chassis are designed in-house by MTRV's mechanical engineers, made from Australian RHS and SHS steel, laser cut, welded on site in Albury, and hot dip galvanised for long-term protection. MTRV's own engineered independent trailing-arm air-bag suspension is tested and refined for harsh Australian terrain. The power systems match the chassis: 1075W of solar, 600A lithium batteries, a 3000W pure sine-wave inverter, and Redarc Redvision total vehicle management with dual control screens.
